Evolutions in Gaseous and Liquid Fuel Cook-Stove Technologies

The rapidly growing global demand for pollutant-free cooking energy has proliferated the research and development of efficient clean cook-stoves. This paper presents a comprehensive review on gradual improvements in cook-stove designs, focusing gaseous liquid fuel-operated cook-stoves around world. Various literatures concerning technical aspects such as design testing, are brought together to provide an insight into present status developments performance covers topics stable operating conditions, flame propagation aspects, heat transfer temperature distribution within burner, fuel consumption, thermal efficiency, emissions. Covering both laboratory-scale field studies, various technologies reported so far summarized with relevant comments regarding their commercial viabilities. numerical modeling combustion cook-stoves; human health environmental impacts unclean technologies; schemes, strategies, governmental initiatives promotion cleaner practices also presented, suggestions future work.
